In our River View Towers community, we can look out for each other by being prepared. Recently, two of our members brought us information about disaster preparedness from New York State’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services and about fire safety from the renowned FDNY – New York City Fire Department. Citizen Preparedness Corps Training – “Disaster Preparedness: What You Need to Know” is an online training video for New Yorkers in English and subtitles for 12 additional languages. In addition to the video, there are further links on how to prepare yourself and your family, what should be in an emergency supply kit, and safety tips.

FDNYSmart – videos, podcasts and links to fire safety information for children and adults on smoke alarms, CPR, extension cords, space heaters and much more.
